I attended the Byzantine Festival ,a local winter festival on Alberta Avenue. In a neighbourhood slowly succeeding at reinventing itself, from a place you wouldn't want to walk in after dark into an arts area.
As we trod along the street scape enjoying the activities we came across a dance studio that offers
belly dance among other things. Music flowed out as I squeezed in. The space was full of everything!
Music, costumes, eastern rugs and dancers blended to awaken rich luxuriant excitement.
Serendipity
just happens....something calls......a book jumps of a shelf and must be read.
(Does that ever happen to anyone else? The book jumping of a shelf thing, it happens to me all the time and I always listen)
Be open to a moment of serendipity
if you are not you may miss out on something or someone wonderful.
I found a dancing crone with her own tribe of dancing crones.
A wonderful group of women of a certain age (of course) all dancing. Not because they will ever be great dancers but just for the joy of it.
From the first class I knew...
I just knew... now we are in the throws of forming a preforming troupe.
Happily willing to make fools of our selves and have fun doing it
At least that's what I've been telling myself.
Scary.... unnerving...I'm actually doing this
Oh wow so exciting!
