On the 6th of May we headed to pick up our narrow boat via Stratford on Avon We walked to the "theatre" and then to the church where the bard is takes his final rest. Again we were lucky and had no crowds at the church.
A harrowing six lane motorway drive later and we arrived at Greater Haywood to take charge of a
narrow boat.
We were immediately advised to take a different route than we planned as a crew of 4 buff young footballers would be hard pressed to complete our choice in such a short time.
We were trained on boat and lock operation then sent on our way.
Ahh 6 quiet days travelling on the canals at no more than 4 miles per hour stopping at a few pubs, villages and markets along the way.
Farms, sheep, cows etc. The days slowly melted into one another.
Some sun, some rain
Beautiful scenery, lots of locks, bridges and ducks with the fuzziest little ones.
.
I adored it all, the week was so lovely.
The lost UK week was simply put serenity itself.
"a crew of 4 buff young footballers" You should have asked for the crew to join you! Nothing like 4 buff young footballers for entertainment.
